Oliver- "This morning all was covered in frost. There was a big earthquake on the farm. There was less snow on Pioneer Peak than last week.
Do you have snow in Chimacum?

How green is your grass? Are there leaves on your trees?

Is there a creek near your school?

Do you have frost in the morning?
#5 Cottonwood Tree
Samantha- "The cottonwood trees have lost 95% of the leaves since two weeks ago. We found a place where a fox might have slept near the cottonwood. We also found a stink bug nest.
Do you have cottonwood trees and stink bugs in Chimacum?
That is cool that you find horse tracks around where you live we sometimes find tracks but not very often!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have frost yet it's not that cold in the morning and during the day it gets pretty hot for it being Autumn and it's usually pretty cold around this time of year.
We have a creek its called Chimacum Creek, its not far from our school, its about a foot deep and in other places it can get deeper. Sometimes we get leaves in the creek but not usually. Whats your creek called?
DeleteThat is really cool. I don't think we have cotton wood trees in Washington. But we do have stink bugs.
ReplyDeleteWe think that it is amazing that your cottonwood trees have lost 95% of their leaves since two weeks ago. That's cool that a fox might have been sleeping near a cottonwood tree. Does the stink bug nest smell really bad? We don't have stink bugs in Chimacum, we don't have cottonwood trees either. Do you know why they are called cottonwood trees?
ReplyDelete- Hunter, Paris, and Savannah

Hi our names are Katie, Gavin, Denisse, Kalista and Sara. Wow that's awesome how the moose strip the bark off the trees. Also part of our grass is green andsome of our grass is yellowish brown. We have a lot of fir trees and they are evergreen which means it is green all year in Washinton. Last we do have deciduous trees which means their leaves do fall.
ReplyDeleteOliver, we don't have snow in Chimacum yet, but it does snow in the winter barely. So Oliver how big was your earthquake on the farm?
ReplyDeletedear Samantha,we have cotton wood trees but not many we also have a little bit of frost in the morning.(:
ReplyDeletesincerely,chimacum students from team 11&12.

ReplyDeleteJessica,Leyton and Carter
ReplyDeleteDear Ava,
Our trees also have most of the leafs but some are starting to fall off. We don't have any animal tracks around here. We have frisbee golf at one of our parks it is called H.J. Carroll park. Our leaves are mostly yellow but some are green and orange.
#4: No not most of the time but usually closer towards December in the winter.

ReplyDeleteWe don't don't get frost until around November. It doesn't snow here until winter. We haven't had an earth quake since 2000 or 2001.

ReplyDeleteYes, we had some frost once this year. We may get more frost over the winter, because it gets kind of cold here in Washington. Hope this helps you guys! ;) By Julian, Anna, Iry,Hope, and Marrisa.
ReplyDeleteWe recently learned that cottonwoods grow in our area. What was the evidence that proved where the fox slept? Did the stinkbugs smell really bad if so, how bad? FUN FACT: Did you know that 95% of stink bugs in Washington die because of the cold temperature.
ReplyDeleteHello, our names are Solana, Adria, Taylor, Alyah, and Zak. Yes, we do indeed have a creek very nearby our school called Chimacum Creek. Since we do not have many deciduous trees in Chimacum, there are very few leaves in our creek. The first day of school there were no leaves whatsoever. Two days ago, there were a few more leaves. Also, our creek is not quite as deep as yours.
